Talk on the largest American Civil War battle in the Western sector which will be given by Major General John Drewienkiewicz (retired). He has had a long-standing and deep interest in the American Civil War. In conjunction with his co-author, Adam Poole, he has published three books on the subject, focussing on the battles of Gettysburg and First Bull Run as well as the Shenandoah Valley campaign of 1862 and which have all addressed their simulation. A particular area of interest has been the Western Theatre and specifically the battle of Chickamauga, a conflict he has had the opportunity to research in the course of an extended visit to the field itself.
