The NHSA is delighted and honoured to welcome Dr. Prit Buttar as our speaker for this event in which we study the northern sector of the great battle of Kursk in 1943, one of the decisive battles of the Second World War. Prit served as a medical officer in the British Army for five years before going into general practice and writing on military history. He is one of the most prolific and foremost authors on the conflict in the East with his many acclaimed works including Battleground Prussia: The Assault on Germany’s Eastern Front 1944-45 (2010), Between Giants: the Battle for the Baltics (2015), The Meat Grinder: the Battles for the Rzhev salient 1942-43 (2022), To Besiege a City: Leningrad 1941-42 (2023) and most recently Hero City: Leningrad 1943-1944 (2024).
