The NHSA is delighted and honoured to welcome Dr. Stéphane Thion as our speaker for this event, in which we study the epic struggle during the Thirty Years’ War between France and Spain at Rocroi in 1643. Stéphane has had a passionate interest in military history for over 15 years. He has published extensively on the Thirty Years War including the recent, beautifully illustrated, “The French Armies of the Thirty Years War 1618-1648″ and “The battle of Fribourg 1644: Enghien and Turenne At War” as well as “Les Armées Françaises de la guerre de Trente ans”,  and “Rocroi 1643: The Victory of Youth”. He is also a regular contributor to periodicals covering the period. The event will take place on 21 February 2026 at 9.30 am.
