SUMMARY:The Battle of Wagram 1809
DESCRIPTION:The NHSA is delighted and honoured to welcome John (Jack) H. Gill as our speaker for this event\, in which we study the great Napoleonic battle of Wagram 1809. Jack is an associate fellow with the International Institute for Strategic Studies and an adjunct professor at the Near East-South Asia Center for Strategic Studies\, affiliated with the National Defense University in Washington DC. He is the foremost authority on the campaign of 1809 with his critically acclaimed works: Thunder on the Danube\, With Eagles to Glory and\, most recently\,  The Battle of Znaim: Napoleon\, the Habsburgs and End of the War of 1809. He has authored many other works on the period\, as well as journal articles and book reviews. He has led tours of Napoleonic battlefields and presented papers to the Society for Military History\, the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era and the German Studies Association.
